York Equestrian Riding School is primly located in the heart of York Region within a 3o minute drive from downtown Toronto.  Situated on 20 acres, York’s attractive and maintained grounds and stable area provide riders with the opportunity to learn to ride in a safe, inviting and professionally run facility. 

Arenas

The indoor arena has large windows on both sides allowing fresh air and sunlight to pass through.  This open feel lets you enjoy the nice weather as well as the comforts of shade and protection from the rain.  Our arena is heated and helps to make the bitter bite of winter a little more comfortable for both horse and rider. 

The outdoor sand ring, which was enlarged and improved in 2006, is equipped with an automatic watering system and provides enough riding space to accommodate multiple lessons or large show-ring hunter or jumper courses. 

Camp Room

The recent classroom addition includes whiteboards for lectures, a craft area, large wash tub and sink as well as plenty of room to gather and play games.  Next to the camp room, campers will find a locker room including cubbies and hooks for their belongings.  A fridge and microwave is also available for use at lunch time.  The room is spacious, fun and welcoming, helping to complete the ultimate camp experience at York!

Viewing Lounge

It is important to consider not only the riders and the horses, but the family and friends that come to observe the lessons.  Our heated/air conditioned club house style lounge has plenty of seating and tables to watch the lessons, read or catch up on paper work.  Both snack and beverage vending machines are also provided.  The large viewing lounge hosts monthly pot luck events and gives riders a place to socialize with other equine enthusiasts. 

Stable and Tackroom

We take great pride in the cleanliness and condition of the stable area.  Good quality care is imperative in order to ensure that the horses remain happy and healthy.  Each of the 32 stalls has an automatic watering system and is designed to allow the horse to hang their head into the aisle.  The aisle ways are padded with rubber matting and brightly lit.  Our tackroom is well organized with a tack cleaning station, sink and hooks to neatly store all of the tack for our school horses. 

Offices and Information

Detailed signs and information are posted around the facility.  The information station in the viewing lounge provides students and visitors with news of policies, upcoming events and newsletters.  We have a small office conveniently located in the barn for lesson information and to allow direct access to phones from the barn area. The main office is always open and visitors are welcome to stop by for a chat.
